Diablo 4 endgame: What to do after beating the main campaign in Season 3?
BlizzardDiablo 4 Season of the Construct has introduced a new circuit for players to put their builds to the test after finishing Sanctuary’s main storyline. If you’re wondering what to do next, here’s everything you can do in the Diablo 4 endgame.
Diablo 4 has a lot more to offer than its main campaign, but players will only get to discover it after defeating Lilith. Blizzard have hidden many challenges that keep Sanctuary alive in the endgame, so Wanderers can explore these quests to keep building their characters.
Along with Vaults, Season of the Construct asks players to put a stop to Malphas, a demon that has taken over the ancient technology of The Loom. However, you’ll need to be prepared before facing him, and there’s no better way to level up than participating in endgame events, battling World Bosses, and looking for Unique Items.
Here’s everything you can do after beating the main campaign in Diablo 4 Season 3.
- Diablo 4: World Tiers
- Diablo 4: Nightmare Dungeons
- Diablo 4: Paragon Boards
- Diablo 4: Helltides
- Diablo 4: Tree of Whispers
- Diablo 4: Codex of Power
- Diablo 4: World Bosses
- Diablo 4: The Echo of Lilith
- Diablo 4: New Season of the Construct endgame events
Diablo 4: World Tiers
After completing the main story of Diablo 4, one of the first things you’ll be able to do is increase Sanctuary’s world level. In the endgame, players have access to two extra difficulty levels: World level 3- Nightmare (recommended for characters level 50 to 70) and World level 4 – Torment (recommended for characters level 70 and above).
Changing World Tiers offers the opportunity of facing harder enemies, but also to gain loot of higher quality and rarity, such as Sacred and Ancestral items.
Diablo 4: Nightmare Dungeons
Once in World Level 3, Diablo 4 players will notice that Nightmare Sigils will start appearing on Sanctuary’s map. These sigils open Nightmare Dungeons, but they function as keys: players have no control over which will be activated. This mechanic will force Wanderers to stash every sigil in their inventory until they find which place they unlock, but they can be salvaged once used.
To get inside a Nightmare Dungeon, players will have to right-click a Nightmare Sigil in their inventory. This action will mark the place on the map, so it can be easier to find. At the end of these challenges, players will receive two pieces of loot and find an altar to upgrade Glyphs.
Diablo 4: Paragon Boards
Diablo 4’s Paragon Boards are custom passive trees, that can provide characters with stats to perfect their build. As players earn experience past level 50, they’ll also gain Paragon Points that can be spent on passive bonuses. Keep in mind that builds can only allocate up to 220 passives.
With the use of Glyphs, Wanderers will be able to improve Paragon Boards unlocking new abilities. Keep in mind that boards are designed according to each class and are tied to specific characters.
Diablo 4: Helltides
After finishing every Act of Diablo 4’s main story, players will have access to Helltide areas. These regions are where Hell’s influence makes enemies stronger and where players can search for crystals to unlock special reward caches.
Zones affected by a Helltide will spawn meteors as environmental hazards, increasing the monster level of the area by two above the player’s level. Defeating demons in this event will grant Aberrant Cinders that can be spent to open Tortured Chests that are scattered across the region affected by the Helltide.
After the Season 3 update, Helltides are now available at all times, with only a 5-minute intermission between them. Players will unlock these events in World Tier 3: Nightmare difficulty and will have to face the Helltide Commanders to gain precious loot.
Diablo 4: Tree of Whispers
Wanderers will encounter the Tree of Whisperers in Act 5 of the Diablo 4 campaign. It’s located in the northeast corner of Hawezar: there’s no way you can miss it, it’s the tree with the talking heads hanging from it.
When players are done with the main story, they’ll get a Priority Quest that will direct them to speak with the tree, who’ll ask to gather Grim Favors which are gained after completing different missions. Keep in mind that every task rewards a different amount of favors:
- Complete a dungeon: +5 Grim Favors.
- Harvest a zone: +3 Grim Favors.
- Clear a cellar: +1 Grim Favor.
- Complete an event: +1 Grim Favor.
- Kill an elite: +1 Grim Favor.
- Slay an enemy type: +1 Grim Favor.
- Finish a Ritual: +3 Grim Favors .
- Defeat a World Boss: +5 Grim Favors.
The main goal is to earn 10 Grim Favors which can be exchanged for reward bundles.
Diablo 4: Codex of Power
The Codex of Power in Diablo 4 is a collection of Legendary Aspects that you can imprint on your items at The Occultists. These enhancements can be used on Rare or Legendary items.
Even though Codex of Power is unlocked early in the main story, it might require Wanderers to keep playing after finishing it to get all Aspects. This can be done by completing every Dungeon in Diablo 4’s map.
Diablo 4: World Bosses
World Bosses are enormous demons that spawn across the map of Sanctuary. Players can encounter them at random, but only after finishing the campaign, they’ll receive World Boss notifications. Keep in mind that this is the only way to be warned in-game of when these huge demons will appear, but fans have managed to build other types of trackers.
Diablo 4’s three main World Bosses are Ashava, The Pestilent; Avarice, The Gold Cursed and Wandering Death, Death Given Life. Each new season introduces new World Bosses for players to test their might, so here’s a list of every World Boss you can find during Season of the Construct:
- Uber Malphas (Season 3)
- Lor Zir (Season 2)
- The Beast in the Ice (Season 2)
- Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint (Season 2)
- Uber Duriel (Season 2)
- Echo of Varshan (Season 1)
- Echo of Lilith (Season 1)
Diablo 4: Echo of Lilith
Diablo 4’s Echo of Lilith is a Level 100 boss, and it’s designed to be the ultimate Diablo 4 enemy. This two-phase demon can be found in the Echo of Hatred and will only be available when playing in the World Tier level 4.
The Echo of Lilith is a more powerful version of Lilith and according to Diablo 4’s Associate Game Director, Joe Piepiora, this fight is a “pinnacle boss encounter.”
“Players that reach level 100 are going to have an extremely difficult time on this boss encounter. The expectation is that you take your class, you understand your build, you’ve maximized everything that you possibly can about it, and you really have learned encountered very well. And that’s going to be the way that you can maybe take it down,” described Piepiora.
Diablo 4: New Season of the Construct endgame events
Diablo 4 Season 3 introduced Vaults and Nightmare Vaults, a new type of Dungeons that players need to explore to complete their seasonal journey and face the demon Malphas.
While they’re completing Season 3’s storyline, they’ll have to build and upgrade their Seneschal Companions, by farming Tuning and Governing Stones. These Constructs will fight alongside them to put a stop to the Malphas’ allies.
Players will also encounter Arcane Tremors, localized events where they’ll need to fight off Constructs to get to the Obelisks and gain precious rewards. While exploring Sanctuary, Wanderers will also encounter Braziers, a fan-acclaimed new PvP mechanic that users have to activate to summon Heralds of Malphas and gain rare materials.
