The new mode sees massive changes in Quick Play while keeping the core mechanics of the game in place. During the event, Classic Quick Play will not be available from the Quick Play menu, but we have you covered if you want to play it.

Overwatch 2’s Quick Play: Hacked – Double Trouble explained
Overwatch 2’s Quick Play: Hacked – Double Trouble will replace Classic Quick Play just for one day, and it will be available until 11:00 AM PDT/ 2 PM EST/ 6 PM GMT on March 19, 2024.
In essence, Quick Play: Double Trouble will allow players to select two of the same Hero in the Damage and Support Roles. However, Tanks will remain capped to one player to prevent them from overwhelming the match, according to Blizzard.
These are all the changes we will see in the event:
- Team can have up to two of the same hero at any time.
- In Role Queue, there is still only one player playing the Tank role.
- All other rules for both Quick Play and Role Queue remain the same.
These changes only apply to Role Queue and Open Queue Quick Play modes during the duration of the event and will return to normal after March 19, 2024.
Why is Quick Play: Hacked not in Overwatch 2’s Arcade?
Overwatch 2’s Quick Play: Hacked is meant to work as an experiment for Blizzard to see how certain changes in the game will work.
According to the dev team, testing new ideas in this way gives them the opportunity to get players directly involved for a limited time and gauge their response. More than that, Blizzard hopes players to try out new playstyles with the new mode.
The reason why the mode is not specifically in Arcade is because these game modes are usually reserved for one map type or entirely different ways to play Overwatch 2. While Quick Play: Hacked speeds things up, the core game mechanics will remain the same.
The devs also decided against bringing back the Experimental Card to get more players involved in testing the new mode.
When will Overwatch 2 Quick Play: Hacked – Double Trouble end?
Overwatch 2 Quick Play: Hacked – Double Trouble will end on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. After this, players will be able to play Classic Quick Play again.
For now, Classic Quick Play will be unavailable until the weekend is over. If you’d like to play Classic modes, you can make a custom lobby, otherwise, you’ll have to stick to Competitive or wait until the weekend is over.
