Overwatch 2 Cosmic Crisis explained

Overwatch 2 Cosmic Crisis is a brand-new co-op mode, tasking players with working together to eliminate a threat underneath Antarctica. This non-canon story can be completed with up to three friends, with four different difficulty options ranging from Normal to Legendary.

Blizzard confirmed that players are encouraged to complete the story multiple times, as new Mission Modifiers will arrive each week that the event is active. The first of these, Death from Above, drops airstrikes around the map that teams must avoid.

While Cosmic Crisis is mainly a co-op experience, there is also a PvP element. In each run, a random player will receive a call from the Ravager, and if they accept it they will embark on their own mission to eliminate their former teammates.
