Here’s everything you need to know about SHADOW Briefings in Fortnite, including where to find them on the Chapter 5 Season 2 map.
Fortnite SHADOW Briefings explained
SHADOW Briefings are the new Job Boards in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, meaning players can interact with them to get different objectives they’ll need to complete during the match.
The main difference between Job Boards and Bounty Boards is that each SHADOW Briefing belongs to one of the following categories:
- Supply Drop – Calls a Supply Drop you’ll need to open within the time limit.
- Treasure – Uncover treasure in the designated area within the time limit.
- Vehicle – Drive a set distance on a vehicle within the time limit.
- Waxen Wings – Fly a set distance using the Wings of Icarus within the time limit.
- Footrace – Race to a checkpoint within the time limit using Shockwave Grenades.
SHADOW Briefings will reward players with Gold Bars once they complete their objectives. It’s worth noting that Supply Drop and Treasure SHADOW Briefings also let players claim powerful weapons and items in the process.
Epic Games removed the sixth type of briefing, Bounties, with the latest update of Season 2. On an X post, they mentioned they’re considering “a fresh take on this type of in-match combat objective.” Players might have to wait for Season 3 or beyond to get a new kind of Bounty in the game.

How to accept SHADOW Briefings in Fortnite
To accept a SHADOW Briefing, all Fortnite players need to do is approach and interact with it during a match. SHADOW Briefings look like computers and only give players one objective, so you won’t have to choose among different options.
One of the Kickstart Quests in Chapter 5 Season 2 tasks players with finding and accepting three SHADOW Briefings, while a Weekly Quest from Week 7 demands players accept eight additional ones. You’ll need to find different ones, so keep that in mind.
